The 1st Annual East African Post & Logistics Forum (EPLF) Conference postponed due to COVID-19


EACO regrets to inform Members and Stakeholders that the Communication Authority of Kenya, the host of 1st Annual East African Post & Logistics Forum (EPLF) Conference supposed to happen from 21st to 23rd October 2020 in Nairobi, Kenya, has postponed due to COVID-19 Pandemic.

EACO in collaboration with the Communication Authority of Kenya will continue to monitoring the developments regarding the pandemic and advise you on the new date considering the measures to minimize the impact on its participants.

Courtesy visit by the CEO of African Network Information Center(AFRINIC)


On 11th March 2020, The EACO Executive Secretary Dr. Ally Simba met with Mr Eddy Kayihura the CEO of AFRINIC. They discussed on how to explore opportunities for both EACO and AFRINIC to build a sustainable collaboration with regards to internet development and IPV6 deployment in the East African Region and accross the continent.

Promoting Satellite and Space Technology in East Africa.


Satellite technologies are among the key enablers in achieving the sustainable development goals and addressing with the digital divide. Members of EACO Working Group 5 held a three day meeting in Kigali, Rwanda from 21st - 22nd January 2020 to discuss and deliberate on approaches to promote satellite and Space technologies in the region.

The East African Communications Organization (EACO) was established in 2012, as a regional autonomous organization with international legal personality and is headquartered in Kigali Rwanda. EACO brings together national ICT regulators, operators, services providers (in the telecommunication, broadcasting and postal sub-sectors), ICT training institutions and other stakeholders in the communication sector within Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The broad objective of EACO is to strengthen and promote cooperation among the six EAC Countries in the development and provision of postal, telecommunication and broadcasting services in East Africa.
